On Saturday 21 November 2009, the Liverpool Guild of Students played host to the inaugural UK Universities Darts Singles Tournament, a one day event sponsored by www.a180.co.uk to determine the best individual darts player across all UK universities. The event was open to all current students and recent alumni and featured 102 participants from approximately 30 UK universities. After 9 hours of darts, the field was whittled down to one, with Lawrie Morgan (York) beating Matt Howard (Edge Hill) in the final to take the crown of University Darts UK Singles Champion.
